Steamboat Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Vrooman as Compliance Manager for Steamboat Group, OSC, and SUI.
A veteran in the compliance field, Jennifer will lead the Surplus Lines Unit and other insurance compliance functions for OSC and SUI. Meeting insurance compliance obligations has always been a core focus of Steamboat and, as we continue to grow, we are committed to furthering our compliance processes, systems, team knowledge, and customer support.
She will also monitor and implement the constantly changing insurance regulatory requirements, as well as managing insurance regulatory monitoring for all business units.
“Jennifer brings a wealth of insurance compliance knowledge that will not only provide leadership to our Surplus Lines Unit but provide a more dedicated compliance program resource to our real estate investor insurance programs,” said Kirk Stephens, CRCM, Chief Compliance Officer.
With over two decades of management experience in insurance compliance – and a decade including Surplus Lines – she has worked with state forms and filing processes while collaborating across departments, including systems, product development, legal, and direct collaboration with state insurance departments.
She began her career working for ING Financial Services USA, later moving to The ACE Group as Regulatory Compliance Project Manager where she oversaw a multi-site global team to develop a companywide compliance risk assessment system, a compliance training platform, and performed underwriting compliance risk reviews.
Continuing her impressive career advancement and work ethic, she later built a compliance program from the ground up for law firm Becket & Lee LLP. Most recently, Jennifer worked for Berkshire Hathaway GUARD Insurance Company, where she served as the State Filing Manager, providing overall direction and guidance for the State Filing Unit, taking full responsibility for oversight and delegation of all related work.
